Characteristics

The ShNU566 uninsulated outdoor body with external dimensions of 1700×600×400 mm is designed to house a bulky set of switching and metering equipment outdoors. This combination of height and width allows the equipment to be spread across several rows of DIN rails with room left for cable routes, and a depth of 400 mm allows devices with protruding elements to be installed without the risk of the door catching on them. The wall mounting and IP65 protection rating make the cabinet suitable for installation on building walls, posts and steel structures without a foundation.

Area of application

The dimensions of 1700×600×400 mm correspond to an increased-height cabinet for service-entrance and distribution panels, electricity metering and low-current automation. Main and group breakers, meters, relays, terminal blocks and small converters are placed on the mounting panel and DIN rails; the body depth of 400 mm leaves a reserve for connecting cables and installing devices with surface-mounted covers.

The door with a gasket around its perimeter and a lock, the cable glands and the IP65 protection rating allow the cabinet to be used in the open air – on facades, power line poles, site fences – without additional shelter. The wall-mounted version saves space during installation where floor installation is impossible or impractical, and the vertical layout is convenient for long cable entries from above and below.
