A laboratory fume cupboard is specialised equipment designed to protect personnel and the environment from harmful vapours, gases, aerosols and dust formed during chemical, biological and physical processes. It ensures safe experiments, work with aggressive substances and compliance with sanitary and hygiene standards.
A laboratory fume cupboard is a mandatory piece of equipment in modern laboratories that will allow you and your enterprise to:
— protect personnel from inhaling toxic substances and reduce the risk of occupational diseases;
— improve the accuracy of analyses and tests by minimising the influence of external contamination;
— avoid orders and fines for violations of working conditions;
— efficiently remove toxic vapours, preventing them from spreading around the room.
Such equipment is used in research laboratories, at industrial enterprises (food and chemical industries) and in educational institutions (universities, colleges, schools).
The basic configuration includes:
- strong metal frame and fume chamber made of sheet steel with a powder-polymer coating (RAL 7035 or 9016);
- front spill-proof rim;
- work surface (material of your choice: polypropylene, stainless steel, laminated chipboard, porcelain stoneware);
- flange for connection to ventilation Ø200 mm;
- LED luminaire 16 W located outside the working zone;
- electrical sockets with a protective cover, earthing 16A (4 pcs) and a circuit breaker;
- adjustable supports (4 pcs) to compensate for uneven surfaces;
- lifting screen of silicate glass with armour film that can be locked in position. The lifting system is located outside the working zone, and when the glass is fully raised the height of the cupboard stays the same.
On request we can equip the cupboards with components such as:
- a base cabinet for storing flammable liquids with 90B fire resistance and extraction capability;
- a base cabinet for storing reagents and acids with a polypropylene capsule and extraction capability;
- an in-line duct fan;
- an explosion-proof luminaire located outside the working zone;
- a water mixer tap;
- a drain sink.
