  • Description
  • Configuration and specifications

Cabinet for storing and charging lithium batteries (fire resistance class 90B) –The cabinet is designed for the safe storage and charging of lithium-ion (Li-ion) and lithium-polymer (Li-Pol) batteries. It protects batteries from overheating during charging and prevents the spread of fire if they ignite. The product was developed and manufactured by LLC Ural Machine-Building Company "Sfera" (LLC URMKS), Chelyabinsk. The cabinet is recommended for use in enclosed production premises with artificially controlled climatic conditions, at enterprises with a large fleet of battery-powered tools, in service centres and laboratories.

Area of application

Sfera FL Lit-2 cabinets are used in industrial production, including at aircraft maintenance and repair enterprises. The cabinet safely stores and charges:

  • batteries of hand-held power tools – screwdrivers, drills, grinders;
  • replaceable batteries of diagnostic and measuring equipment;
  • auxiliary battery-powered equipment.

Compliance with safety requirements

The cabinet ensures compliance with occupational health and industrial safety rules when working with lithium-ion batteries. The delivery set includes all the necessary permit documentation and certificates of conformity to the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union (TR CU) and Federal Law No. 123-FZ "Technical Regulations on Fire Safety Requirements".

Made in Russia from environmentally safe materials.

Safety system
  • Active cooling:When the temperature inside the cabinet exceeds +25 °C, the controller automatically switches on the fan, providing forced ventilation and lowering the batteries' temperature.
  • Overheat protection:When a temperature of +45 °C is reached, power to the chargers is cut off, and the fan keeps running until the temperature falls below the threshold. The voltage supply resumes automatically after cooling. At the same time, a light and sound alarm switches on (period 3 s).
  • Smoke monitoring:When the smoke detector is triggered, power to the chargers and the fan are switched off, a light and sound annunciator with a period of 2 s switches on, and an "Alarm" signal is issued.
  • Fire extinguishing:At critical heating above +72 °C or when the smoke detector is triggered, the system cuts off power and ventilation and starts the extinguishing aerosol generators. The red indicator blinks with a period of 2 s, and the light and sound annunciator works with a period of 1 s.
  • Passive protection:A thermally expanding gasket runs around the perimeter of the doors. In a fire it fills the gaps, additionally isolating the internal space and preventing the spread of fire.
  • Visual overheat indication:A reusable thermal indicator sticker, which changes colour at temperatures above 50 °C, is placed on the right door.
  • Pressure relief:There is an opening in the upper part of the cabinet to relieve the pressure produced by thermal runaway of the batteries.

Design features

  • Design: a double-door cabinet with a double steel shell and fireproof filler.
  • Lock system: handle with a rod mechanism, key locking (2 keys supplied).
  • Mobility: fitted with four wheels for horizontal movement.
  • Stationary installation: four adjustable feet make it possible to level the cabinet and fix it in place.
  • Control: built-in controller with a screen and buttons, indication of operating modes (green/red LEDs), the operator can change the temperature setpoints.

Installation and operation

  • Operating conditions: enclosed premises with an ambient temperature of +5 to +25 °C, relative humidity not more than 70 %, installation altitude not more than 2000 m above sea level, no vibration or aggressive environments.
  • Mains connection: a copper three-core cable with a cross-section of at least 4 mm² (for example, KG 3×4) is connected through the cable gland on the side wall. The cabinet body must be earthed in accordance with the Electrical Installation Code (PUE).
  • Commissioning: after installation, set the circuit breakers QF1, QF2, QF3 to the on position and apply voltage.
  • Maintenance: periodic inspection of contacts and earthing (at least 1 time in 6 months), removal of dust with compressed air (pressure not more than 3 bar) or a dry cloth. All work is carried out with the power off.
